About SHAC: 
 
A school health advisory council (SHAC) is a group of individuals that represent different segments of the community. By Law a majority of the members must be persons who are parents of students enrolled in the district and who are not employed by the district, the NISD SHAC is made up of parents, community members and school staff working together to improve the health of all students and families through coordinated school health programs. 
Title 2 Chapter 28 section 28.004 of the Texas Education Code

How can I help?
Become knowledgeable about district efforts to create healthy learning environments. Works with your school's PTA and campus principals to help implement practices that promote healthy lifestyles for our school age children. Attend District SHAC meetings.
